Samantha grew up in New Jersey as a newsie with a passion for broadcasting, story-telling and listening to people. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University–New Brunswick in May 2017, earning a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Gender and the Media. Upon graduation, she began her news career in New York City at NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt. Samantha transitioned from this position to her current role as a weekday morning reporter for WJAC.
From her internships with NBC News to her time on the Nightly News team, Samantha has been a part of the peacock family for over two years. During college, Samantha interned with New Jersey 101.5 FM and worked as a news correspondent for WRSU-FM Rutgers Radio. In addition, she was a sideline reporter for Rutgers Athletics through RVision, BTN Student U and Lax Sports Network.
As a member of Kappa Tau Alpha, the national honor society in journalism and mass communication, Samantha is enthusiastic about all aspects of broadcast journalism. She is driven, energetic, reliable and a people-person who genuinely cares about giving a voice to stories that may have otherwise gone unheard. Samantha feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the State College community and is eager to get involved.
