Nicole Fuschino is so excited and fortunate to begin her career in the town she was born and raised in. She was hired as a Multimedia Journalist in May of 2020 right after she graduated college and amid the Coronavirus Pandemic.
She's no stranger to WJAC. She grew up watching their evening news program, and in the Spring of 2018, she was a News Intern for the station. The following summer, she came back as a producer for the "Your Town" summer series. Even though Nicole grew up in this area, she says both of those experiences allowed her to discover places she's never seen and talk to people she's never met.
Nicole graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA with a degree in Broadcast Reporting. During her time in Pittsburgh, Nicole interned at fellow NBC affiliate WPXI to help produce their 34th Annual Holiday Parade over Thanksgiving. She says she loved finding talents, stacking the show's lineup, and meeting people from all over the area.
During her senior year, Nicole spent the semester in New York City to intern at The TODAY Show. She says moving to Manhattan alone was the scariest thing she's ever done, but one of the most rewarding. She worked at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, interacted with fans from all over the world on the TODAY Plaza, and had conversations with NBC anchors during the commercial breaks.
After spending time in Pittsburgh and New York City, Nicole knew there was only one place she wanted to work after graduating college: WJAC. She is so happy to be back at home with her family and friends and reporting in the town that she calls home.
