H.S. Round up: Four area schools capture district softball championships Wednesday

LORETTO - District crowned its final three champions Wednesday.

Baseball wrapped up last week, and today marked the end of its softball championships in classes 3A, 2A, and 1A.

In the final game of the day, Philipsburg-Osceola survived a late two run home run to preserve a 3-2 win over Central.

In the second game of the day, Mount Union exploded for all 9 of its runs from the fourth inning on, in a 9-2 win over West Branch.

In the opener, Claysburg-Kimmel defeated Glendale 8-4.
