Yelling man in State College tried to take officer's taser, police say

    A State College man is in jail after an altercation with a police officer early Friday morning.

    According to the criminal complaint, 45-year-old David Michael was causing a disturbance and yelling up at several people on a balcony at Penn Towers.

    After being confronted by an officer, the report says Michael tried taking the officer's taser.

    Police say he continued to resist arrest and made aggressive movements toward the officer, even ripping off the officer’s badge.

    More police officers arrived and Michael arrested, the complaint says.

    Michael faces felony charges including felony assault and disarming a law enforcement officer.

    His bail is set at $50,000.
