Two men charged after assault of Game Commission officer, police say

State police said they have charged two men involved in the assault of a Pennsylvania Game Commission officer in Schuylkill County.

Wade Winemiller, 57, and Thomas Kelly, 57, are both being charged with aggravated assault, robbery, resisting arrest and multiple other charges.

The Game Commission officer was investigating a hunting violation Saturday when he was attacked. The officer fired his weapon during the assault.

Police said the two men then fled on their all-terrain vehicles and the officer was taken to the hospital.

Winemiller was arraigned Monday and is in the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Kelly was arraigned Tuesday and was able to post bail.
