Speed limits reduced on area highways and interstates
PennDOT said it is reducing the speed limits on several roads in the region Saturday night.
The following roads have been reduced to 45 mph:
Interstate 70, in Bedford and Fulton counties
Interstate 99, in Bedford and Blair counties
Route 219 in Cambria and Somerset counties
Route 22 in Blair, Cambria and Huntingdon counties
A statement from PennDOT said they have been treating roadways and that its primary goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice and snow.
PennDOT said its crews will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.
