Search continues for suspected drowning victim in Quemahoning Dam
CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP - The search for an 18-year-old in the Quemahoning Dam continued Tuesday.
Scalp Level Fire Deparment Deputy Chief David Boyer said crews are still conducting an aggressive search and dive teams from several counties are aiding in the search.
He said they are using sonar, have expanded the search area and will continue to search until dark Tuesday.
First responders were first called to the Quemahoning Dam Monday afternoon after officials said a group of people was paddleboarding Monday afternoon near the dam when the 18-year-old fell off his board.
First responders got to the scene roughly 30 minutes after the man went under.
Officials said a life jacket was found found on top of the paddleboard.
