Police: Woman on life support after being assaulted by man
WESTMONT – A Pittsburgh man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman, who was then taken to be put on life support in the intensive care unit at a local hospital, police said.
According to West Hills Regional police, Marcus Taczanowsky, 38, assaulted the woman in an apartment on the 400 block of Bucknell Avenue Monday.
The woman’s father told police he didn’t know Taczanowsky was back in the her life, the complaint said.
The man also told officers that when he got to the apartment the first time Monday, he found the woman forcing Taczanowsky down the steps and out of the apartment.
According to the complaint, the woman’s father said to his daughter, “He beat you up,” to which she responded, “No, I’m OK. Really, Dad, I’m OK.”
Police said the woman is on life support in the intensive care unit at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.
Taczanowsky faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. He is in the Cambria County Prison on $50,000 bail.
He already was wanted on a warrant in Cambria County,
