Police offer reward for arrest, conviction of suspect who attacked officer

STATE COLLEGE - The State College Police Department is offering a monetary reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual who attacked a uniformed State College officer from behind.

Police said the officer was attempting to arrest another individual for assaulting another person during the incident on Sunday at 1:45 a.m.

The officer responded to a fight on the 300 block of East Calder Way outside the Lion’s Den, police said.

While struggling with an individual, police said the officer was attacked from behind by an unknown person.

Police said the individual punched the officer in the face. There was a large group of people around the disorder and several individuals were recording the incident on their cell phones.
