Police narrow suspect in PSU ticket scam investigation
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WJAC) —
Police are continuing their investigation into multiple scams involving Penn State football tickets.
They said they’re looking for a suspect who offered tickets for sale through Facebook for the Penn State – Ohio State game Sept 29.
The victims paid the seller by transferring money into a Venmo account that the suspect deleted immediately after the transfer.
Police believe the same suspect is responsible for all three ticket incidents.
University Police are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim of the crime, or a similar crime, to contact them at 814-863-1111.
The university asks fans to only purchase tickets through Penn State-authorized sources like the university athletics ticket office and Ticketmaster.
