Police: Man charged after breaking into video poker machines in Johnstown
JOHNSTOWN - Johnstown police have arrested a man after they said he broke into a Johnstown social club early Tuesday morning.
Melvin Siehl, 60, has been charged with burglary. According to police, they responded to a burglar alarm at Harmonie Singing Society, just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they said they heard pounding from inside the building and they established a perimeter.
Police said a K-9 unit was called in and it located Siehl inside the office area in the club.
Police said when they took Siehl into custody he had been breaking into video poker machines and had more than $1,000 of cash on him.
He was taken to the Cambria County Prison.
