LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP — A Clearfield County fire chief is facing charges after police said he stole from the township he served.
Police said 35-year-old Shane Nevling, chief of Hyde Volunteer Fire Company Station 6, used Lawrence Township credit cards to buy gas and diesel fuel for his and his family’s vehicles.
Police said they arrested Nevling Thursday and he is lodged in the Clearfield County Jail on $25,000 straight cash bail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 16.
He faces several charges, including access device fraud, receiving stolen property and identity theft.
