PennDOT: Altoona Driver License Center will close for renovations

    The Altoona Driver License Center will be closing for renovations this Saturday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

    PennDOT said in a release the center will be closed starting Jan. 12 at 4:15 p.m. and will reopen for both photo services and driver licensing services Feb. 6.

    PennDOT said while renovations are taking place, the Huntingdon Driver License Center will have extended hours.

    Those hours are:

    Driver License Center: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

    • Photo License Center: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Anyone who has a driving skills test scheduled during the renovation period will take the test at the nearby Huntingdon location.

    There are also several other locations nearby:

    Johnstown: 563 Walters Ave.

    • Driver License Center: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
    • Photo License Center: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Clearfield: Clearfield Mall, Unit 380, 1800 Daisy St.

    • Driver License Center: Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
    • Photo License Center: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
