Olympic BMX coach visits Cambria Co. school
EBENSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) —
Central Cambria students got a visit from an Olympic coach Thursday morning, but he wasn't there to talk about sports.
Tony Hoffman is a BMX coach from California. He travels to schools hoping his story of going from prison to the Olympics will motivate students to live a drug-free life.
"I take my experiences, I take my passions and I give them to other people to help them either become successful or as warning signs for what's ahead if they continue to make the decisions that I used to make,” said Hoffman.
The program was brought to the Central Cambria middle and high school students thanks to a grant from Operation Our Town.
For anyone who is interested in Hoffman's message, they can find his "One Choice" podcast online by searching his name.
