NANTY GLO, Pa. (WJAC) — A Nanty Glo man was arrested and charged with raping an unconscious woman and harassing her afterward.
According to state police, 41-year-old Peter Mallin was returning to his home on Hooker Lane just before 2 a.m. on July 7, when the victim, who lived in the same house, saw him staggering along the road and offered him a ride for his safety.
Police said Mallin declined the ride and made his way home.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim went to bed and later woke up to Mallin trying to assault her. The victim told police she pushed Mallin away and noticed that some of her clothing had been removed.
The complaint said Mallin followed the victim around the house trying to get her to go back to her room. At one point, Mallin wrapped his arm around the victim while pushing up against her, the complaint said. A few hours later, the victim went back to bed alone, and the next morning confronted Mallin about the incident.
Mallin said he didn't remember attacking the victim, according to the complaint.
Police said the victim left the house and walk to a relative's house, where they called police.
Mallin was arrested months later after being listed on the state police's most wanted list.
Court documents show Mallin faces numerous sexual assault charges.
He is being held at the Cambria County Prison on a $175,000 bail.
