Authorities say a Schellsburg man is behind bars for threatening to blow up the Bedford County Courthouse.

State police say 39-year-old Luke Bartholow has been charged with misdemeanor bomb threats: threatening the placement of a bomb.

According to state police, troopers were called Jan. 15 after Bartholow violated a protection from abuse order at a home in Napier Township.

They say the victim recorded a phone call with Bartholow in which he threatened to eat the sheriff and kill everyone inside the courthouse with an explosion.

Bartholow is now being held in the Bedford County Prison.

His bail has been set at $1 million.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
