Man airlifted from Seven Springs after falling from ski lift

CHAMPION - A man was airlifted to a hospital after falling from a ski lift at Seven Springs Mountain resort.

It happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday on the North Face chairlift.

The resort said ski patrol immediately treated the man, who was then flow from the scene.

The resort said it's rare for a guest to fall from a lift, adding that there's no evidence the fall was due to a malfunction.

The resort said in a statement that its entire mountain family is deeply saddened by the accident. Their thoughts and prayers go out to the gentleman, his family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

The man's name and condition have not been released.
