Johnstown man pleads guilty to illegal firearm possession in federal court

    JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - A Johnstown resident pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday for being in unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

    Anthony Edwards, 31, pleaded guilty to the one count stemming from the March 15 incident.

    Investigators said Edwards was found in possession of a loaded pistol that day. He was convicted in Cambria County in March of 2017 of possessing a firearm without a license.

    Edwards is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 23 and faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
