Johnstown police said they were called to an attempted robbery at the A-Plus on Fairfield Avenue.

While they were searching the area, they were called for an armed robbery at the Fairfield Lounge..

Police said Mackenzie Curicja was identified as the suspect and was found near his residence on Leslie Street.

Police said he had a knife.

He was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and theft.

According to county emergency officials the gas station has had robbery calls four times in the past two years.

6 News covered multiple incidents at the gas station, including those robberies, and an abduction case in May where a person escaped a car that was parked at the A-Plus.

Emergency officials said this convenience store has a lot of activity and a high call volume in terms of calls to 911.

The store itself declined to comment and Sunoco corporate didn't return an email.

Johnstown police Chief Bob Johnson said that if you're ever in a place and someone comes in to try and rob it generally you should not intervene.

"You want to take a, you know, position of concealment or cover and hide and not become part of the incident,” Johnson said. “Do everything in your power to stay uninvolved. And be a very, very, very good witness for the police."
