Canned food drive helps feed students in need
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) —
The Mountain Lion BackPack Program is holding a donation campaign.
The organization feeds 1,000 or more students each week by sending food home over the weekend.
Now through the end of January the organization is holding the Souper Bowl of Caring Canned Food Drive.
They are collecting canned soups, canned pasta and pork and beans.
Donations will be distributed to students during the month of February.
Students are given nutritious meals to help them do well in school.
You can drop off donations at Dorman's Sports Performance, where the Mountain Lion BackPack Program has warehouse space.
If you have a business that is interested in collecting donations, contact the program to arrange a pickup.
