JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Teachers at the Greater Johnstown School District were taught a lesson themselves Friday.
A well-known educator and doctor, spoke to the teachers about dealing with students’ emotions and issues that can arise from technology.
Dr. Horacio Sanchez talked to the teachers about tools they can use to better the environment for students within the district.
It's based on neuroscience and how different approaches affect the brain.
"The talk was designed to help teachers to understand that universal things that we do across the school have dramatic benefits for kids,” said Sanchez.
Sanchez said it's important to give students the tools they need to help them get along with one another in order to promote a better school environment.
He said this will help them regulate their emotions both as kids, and as they become adults.
