CROYLE TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Officials were called Saturday morning when a large, dead tree fell and blocked Wess Road in Croyle Township.

Summerhill Borough Volunteer Fire Department said that when they arrived on scene, they got to work to cut up the tree.

Officials said there was a large hive of bees inside the tree.

There were a few bee stings but officials said the cold weather had the bees fairly calm.

The hive was removed from the roadway with the help of a skid loader and Summerhill Fire Department said a bee keeper was called to attempt to salvage the hive.
