Crews hindered by lack of manpower in Hooversville fire, chief says
HOOVERSVILLE, Pa. (WJAC) —
Crews in Somerset County battled a house fire Friday morning.
It happened on Coffee Hill Road in Hooversville.
The Central City Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene.
Officials say no one was home at the time of the fire – a neighbor told 6 News the family was on their way home from a doctor’s appointment in Pittsburgh.
Fire Chief William Russian said crews had a difficult time getting the fire out due to lack of manpower.
The fire was contained to half of the house, officials say, but they’re not sure the extent of the damage at this time.
Russian says the family did not have insurance.
A state fire marshal has been called to investigate.
