Crews battle overnight house fire in Stoystown

Crews responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning in Stoystown.

Fire crews were called to the scene just before 3 a.m. Officials at the scene say the right side of the house was engulfed in flames.

Officials have confirmed that there were people inside the home but were able to make it out safely.

Officials say the home is a total loss.

Stoystown fire chief David Johnson says there was camper behind the house that was also damaged in the fire.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time. Pennsylvania State Police and Fire Marshall’s have been contacted.

Now, the family is reaching out to the community for donations.

They're asking for:

Female large petite bottoms, x-large shirts, and 7 1/2 sized shoes.

Male large and medium shirts, 34-34/32-30/34-30, and 9 1/2 and 8 1/2 sized shoes.

Donations are being accepted at Boswell and Stoystown Fire Department locations.
