Able Racers: Specially designed toy vehicle for the disabled
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) —
A young Centre County woman is continuing her efforts to provide new technology for disabled people of all ages.
Mary Elizabeth McCulloch is developing able racers -- toys with specially designed power switches that are easily accessible.
They're what's termed "adapted toys."
She then carried the idea over to toy vehicles.
Able racers are boosted with funding from Springboard, the Bellefonte-based business incubator.
So far, able racers has developed close to 50 adapted toys.
