Altoona police are investigating after over a half-dozen cats were found with gunshot wounds.

Police say seven cats were shot and found near 7th and 8th avenues over the past two weeks. Police say each was struck by a .22-caliber round.

The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society has been treating the injured cats but say three of them did not survive.
