Altoona Fire Department, Salvation Army team up for day of giving
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) —
The Altoona Fire Department teamed up with the Salvation Army to host a day of giving event.
It all benefits the Red Kettle campaign.
The event took place Thursday morning at the Walgreens on Plank Road in Altoona.
The Altoona Fire Department is helping out as a way of saying thank you for all of the hard work the Salvation Army does for them.
The Salvation Army said they're $10,000 behind their $110,000 goal this year.
They want the public to know that no amount is too small to donate, every little bit helps.
"We realize that we are just a small part of making a larger impact,” said Larry Fulmer, of the Salvation Army. “But I believe that when we come together as a community, we can make a larger impact. So, all of the donations given this year does go to help people in the most need."
The Red Kettle campaign runs through Christmas Eve and provides the operating budget for all of the Salvation Army's social programs.
