Authorities said an albino deer roaming the Westmont area was shot and killed with a pellet gun.

According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, officers responded to a call for a road kill along Bates Drive Friday.

After removing and examining the deer, officers noticed two small pellet wounds, likely caused by a pellet gun, officers said.

Officers said they believe the deer was shot near the road sometime in the last few days. They have not identified any suspects at this time.

Officials said several other animals have been shot in the same area over the years with what appears to be a pellet gun.

The game commission believes there are about two to three albino deer that roam the Johnstown area.
