Additional charges filed against man accused in string of Clearfield County arsons
SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Clearfield County man who was first charged May 31 on suspicion of having a role in a string of arsons in Sandy Township is facing additional charges.
According to court documents, Brady Burkett is facing more than 70 charges in connection with six deliberately set fires in the area of Timetobid Road.
The charges include arson with danger of death or bodily injury, burglary, arson with intent to destroy an unoccupied building, reckless burning, arson endangering a property, recklessly endangering another person and numerous summary offenses.
Police were investigating six arsons between Feb. 16 and May 30.
According to police, they were able to identify Burkett as the culprit following a May 30 arson.
Police said Burkett confessed to setting all the fires. He was initially charged in the May 30 arson.
Burkett is in the Clearfield County Jail on $250,000 bail and has a hearing set for June 29.
