Adaptive bikes presented to kids with disabilities in Blair, Cambria Counties
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) —
For many, riding a bike is like a rite of passage, but for some, it's a dream.
That dream came true Monday for 11 kids.
Adaptive bikes were presented to kids with disabilities in Blair and Cambria counties.
A children's charity called Variety and the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 hosted the presentations, where adaptive bikes, strollers and communication devices were given to 24 local kids.
Since November 2012, more than 2,500 adaptive bikes, adaptive strollers and communication devices have been presented by Variety to kids in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
