WARRIORS MARK TWP. Pa. (WJAC) — State police said two people, including a 3-year-old boy, were seriously hurt in a DUI crash in Warriors Mark Township Wednesday night.
The crash happened along Birmingham Pike and Hundred Springs Road just after 5 p.m., police said.
Police said the driver of one car was attempting to turn onto Hundred Springs Road from Birmingham Pike when it was struck by a second car and spun out into the roadway.
According to police, the driver of the second car was believed to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
Police said the passenger of the first car was taken to UPMC Hospital in Altoona, where she had to undergo surgery for internal bleeding and a blood clot. The boy, who was in the same car, was flown to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Police said the child had a fractured skull, internal bleeding and swelling on his brain as a result of the crash and was in and out of consciousness.
The names of the victims have not been released as police are still investigating the crash.
