STONYCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Two people were sent to the hospital after a four-vehicle crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County Friday morning.

According to police, traffic was slowing for a tunnel shutdown near mile marker 120 in Stonycreek Township when a woman driving a Volvo did not stop in time.

Police said the Volvo struck a trailer that was hitched to a Dodge Ram and then struck a tractor-trailer, knocking its rear wheels off and pushing that tractor-trailer into another.

The driver of the Volvo was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and the driver of the tractor-trailer that lost its wheels was taken to Somerset Area Hospital.

Police are still investigating.
