Police rule deaths of pair found inside Martinsburg home as homicide

State police said the deaths of two people found in Blair County has been ruled as homicide.

According to a news release, 30-year-old Cassandra Appleman and 49-year-old Sheldon Appleman were found dead in a home on the 2000 block of Cove Mountain Road near Weyants Road in North Woodbury Township.

The pair, both from Martinsburg, was discovered sometime around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

According to the release, autopsies revealed the two were engaged in a violent physical altercation, which resulted in their deaths.

Police have not said what their relationship is.

Authorities did not have additional information to release regarding the cause of death.

Police said no other suspects are being sought, and the investigation is ongoing.
