2 charged after head-on collision in Blair County
LOGAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Two women were charged after a head-on collision in Logan Township Sunday morning.
Police responded to a head-on collision in the area of Colonel Drake Highway around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.
Police said Alicia Hartford-Galat rubbed her eyes and swerved into the opposite lane, striking a vehicle head-on.
According to police, the driver of the second vehicle, Sue A. Koeck, 54, had an odor of alcohol coming from her when officers arrived.
Police said witnesses told officers that a passenger in the vehicle threw a cooler into the woods prior to the arrival of police.
Officers said they found the cooler in the nearby woods and it had 11 alcoholic beverages inside. Both drivers were taken to the UPMC Altoona.
Koeck was charged with DUI, the passenger, Jack Koeck, was charged with depositing waste and other materials on a highway and Hartford-Galat was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
