Report: Former WWE superstar, 'Dynamite Kid', dead at 60
WASHINGTON (SGB) - Former wrestling superstar Thomas "Dynamite kid" Billington has died on his 60th birthday, Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment reported Wednesday.
According to TMZ, Billington had been battling health issues for years and the cause of his death has not yet been released.
Dynamite kid joined the WWE in 1984 and was best known for winning the tag team championship at Wrestlemania II in 1986 with the British Bulldogs, one of the most popular tag teams during his career.
Davey Boy Smith Jr., Dynamite Kid's nephew and former professional wrestler, tweeted a statement on his passing.
"It deeply saddens me to announce the passing of Tom Billington the 'Dynamite Kid.' I was really happy and glad I got to see Dynamite one last time last June in the UK."
"Dynamite was certainly an inspiration to myself and many others and really revolutionized professional Wrestling as we now [sic] it today. He flew high, and gave it his all every match. Thanks for everything and sad to have lost another family member. Rest In Peace Dyno."
