2017 KEYSTONE SHORTWAY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEW:

Karns City won the Keystone Shortway large division in 2016. The Gremlins went 4-0 in the conference on their way to a PIAA quarterfinals appearance.

St. Marys went 3-1 in the conference and finished 6-4 overall. This season the Flying Dutch returns a big roster, but is lacking in experience. Relying on underclassmen will be the key for St. Marys this fall.

Punxsutawney finished up 2-8 a year ago, but don't be surprised if the Chucks are much better in 2017. Returning 18 starters - including several on the offensive and defensive lines - will help their efforts.

Brookville posted a 3-6 record in 2016 but won two out of its last three games to finish on a high note. Expect the Raiders to get off to a better start opening the season against Warren.

Clarion-Limestone won the small division crown last season, then lost to Elk County Catholic in the playoffs.
