UPJ wrestlers ready to rock Cleveland at nationals

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP -- Six wrestlers from Pitt-Johnstown will participate at the Division II National Championships this weekend in Cleveland.

Of the six, three won regional championships two weeks ago at the Super I Regional championships: David Fogle at 125 pounds, Travis McKillop at 184 pounds, and Zac Bennett at 197 pounds.

McKillop, a junior, is a two-time All-American and last year, finished third place at the national tournament. This season, he is the No. 1 ranked wrestler at 184 pounds in the nation.

Fogle, a Forest Hills graduate, took third place at 133 pounds at Nationals in 2012. This season, his senior year, has been his only at the 125-lb weight class, but won the East Regional title and is ranked No. 5 in the nation.

Bennett, a Westmont graduate, is participating in his first Division II National Tournament. He participated in the 2011 Division I National Tournament as an ACC champion with North Carolina. Due to transfer rules, Bennett has only been allowed to wrestle for Pitt-Johnstown since January, but is currently ranked No. 4 at 197 pounds.

Other UPJ wrestlers participating in the national tournament at Sam Hanau (141 pounds), Colin Landowski (157), and Josh Duplin (HWT).

The Division II National Wrestling Tournament begins Thursday.
