#1 Penn State wrestlers dominate #3 Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Avenging its only loss from last season, top-ranked Penn State defeated No. 3 Iowa 24-12 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday.

All-American David Taylor, ranked No. 1 at 165 pounds, broke a 9-9 tie with a 12-3 major decision win. Matt Brown followed up with a 4-1 win at 174 pounds and No. 1 ranked Ed Ruth pushed the Penn State lead to 20-9 with a 12-4 major decision win at 184 pounds.

Morgan McIntosh's 16-4 major decision at 197 lbs. clinches the match for Penn State, which improves to 7-0.

Saturday's match against Iowa was considered a non-conference dual meet, as Penn State and Iowa were controversialy left off each other's Big Ten schedules. Head coaches Cael Sanderson and Tom Brands helped revive the meet through a series of tweets during the summer.
