By: WJAC Web Staff

EAST TAYLOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police in Cambria County are investigating an alleged threat at Conemaugh Valley High School.

Conemaugh Valley Superintendent David Lehman said an alleged threat was made toward the high school and that police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the threat.

Lehman said the threat was received on Thursday. On Friday, a large police presence was seen at the high school, which is off of William Penn Avenue in East Taylor Township.

The district sent an automated message to parents and guardians about the threat being made, stating that the district administration and staff are taking the situation very seriously and that district school resource officers and area authorities are involved in the investigation, Lehman said.

Lehman said no weapons have been found and that all participants involved in the alleged threat are being questioned. It was unknown how many students were involved in the alleged threat or the exact nature of the threat.

Conemaugh Valley schools were operating as normal on Friday.

Lehman emphasized that students safety was the districts priority.
