Man facing more than 1,000 child sex abuse counts will head to trial

BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- A Centre County man arrested a week ago on more than 1,200 child sex abuse-related charges will face trial.

Eric Crader, 33, of Pleasant Gap, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.

Crader was in court for a bail reduction hearing, but instead opted to waive the hearing. His bail was not reduced and placed back in the Centre County Correctional Facility on $500,000.

Crader is accused of raping and sexual abusing two girls, ages 6 and 8, dating back to at least 2011, investigators said.

Crader faces 1,278 counts and was arrested following his alleged victims coming forward to elementary school officials after they heard a lecture about inappropriate touching, police said.
