Agents raid Blair Co. doctor's office

By: WJAC Web Staff

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Federal officials from several agencies conducted a raid at a Blair County doctor's office and other locations, but details about the situation are limited.

United States Attorney for the Western Disrtrict of Pensylvania David J. Hickton said in a release that agents from the FBI, Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General and the IRS criminal investigations unit, executed search warrants at three locations in the Altoona area on Wednesday.

Hickton said the raid locations were part of an ongoing federal investigation and happened at 300 E. Walnut Ave. and 301 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., both in Altoona, and 203 Stoneridge Rd. in Hollidaysburg.

There was no immediate information about why the locations were raided or what information, if any, was taken.

Officials confirmed the locations were linked to Dr. John Johnson and included his practice on East Walnut Ave.

Johnson also owns Johnny Foods, which operates several locations throughout Altoona, officials confirmed. It was not clear if those other locations were also involved in the apparent investigation.
