Police: Man robs bank for crack cash

By: WJAC Web Staff

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Investigators said the man who allegedly robbed a Cambria County bank did so to help fund his drug habit.

Johnstown police said Tyler Reed, 25, admitted to them he robbed the USSCO Credit Union in the city's Moxham section on Tuesday for money to buy crack cocaine.

Officers said in the criminal complaint that Reed ran off with $3,865 from the bank.

Reed didn't get far, as he was followed and then tackled by two men who saw the robbery happening.

Reed was placed in the Cambria County Jail on $300,000 bail and faces robbery and related charges.
