By: Kerri Corrado and WJAC Web Staff
RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The Richland Cinemas in Cambria County is holding a special cancer awareness day as 50 percent of concession proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Ticket sales are not included.
"Popcorn, candy, drinks anything we sell at the concession stand," said Donna Troll employee at Richland Cinemas.
If you can't hit the movies you can still offer hope for those suffering with any type of cancer by supporting the cause.
"Even if they want to stop on and buy a popcorn or a drink," Donna said.
The day in remembrance of her uncle James Troll, who died last year. He is the brother of the owner and worked at Richland Cinemas for years.
"We contacted the cancer society and decided to have the event, she said.
It is the first time Richland Cinemas is having the event. It will be held all day, Wednesday on Theatre Drive starting at 11:45 a.m.
"We are hoping it would be a great turnout, she said.
Big turnout or not, they say any amount of support will help beat cancer.
