Man who shot dog files appeal

By: WJAC Web Staff

BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- A Centre County man who was sent to jail over a controversial dog shooting has filed an appeal.

Barry Grove was sentenced after he shot and killed his dog last May.

Grove was a convicted felon at the time of the shooting and prosecutors said he was not allowed to possess a gun.

Grove asked for a new trail, stating he was first convicted in 1978, 15 years before the state changed the law concerning felons owning guns.
