Police: Forklift stolen and severely damages residents garage

HASTINGS, Pa. -- Sunday morning around 1:30 police said a criminal mischief incident occurred on Coleman Street in Hastings Borough.

Police said a person or persons stole a heavy equipment forklift from a construction site in the center of town and drove it to the residence on Coleman Street.

Upon arrival the person operating the forklift drove into the yard to the driveway, hitting the owner's car, moving it roughly 3 feet.

Police said the driver then drove the forklift through the residence's garage, causing severe damage.

The person then continued to drive the forklift through the backyard, exiting onto Maple Street then to Beaver Street.

Police said they found the forklift on Number Nine Road in Susquehanna Township.
