POTTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police said a fatal accident in the 600 block of Old Fort Road took the life of Logan M. Bonar, 18.

Police said Bonar was speeding in a 45 miles-per-hour zone when he lost control of his car after traveling over a section of water and ice on the roadway.

After losing control of the car, Bonar traveled off the roadway and hit a tree with the right front end of his 2001 Buick Century, said police.

Police said the car then traveled approximately 100 feet in a ditch before hitting something else with the right front end, causing the car to go airborne approximately five feet and hit the passenger side rear door and hood area.

The car then spun clockwise approximately 90 degrees before coming to a final rest near the final impact site.

Bonar was pronounced dead at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.
