Lacrosse coming to Johnstown area

By: WJAC Web Staff

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- A popular sport is coming to the Johnstown area after receiving high ratings from players and parents last summer.

Johnstown Lacrosse is joining with East Hills Recreation to create the Johnstown Lacrosse Association.

The group has a certified coach, 25 full sets of free equipment for the season and 10 games scheduled. Travel teams are to start in April.

Organizers said it is the fastest sport on grass and is great for the youth in the area.

You mix in your hockeys, your soccer, your football, nothing better than that, said Johnstown LAX Association coach Drew Civis.

There are free clinics every Saturday throughout March from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
