Bus carrying 13 students crashes on busy roadway

By: WJAC Web Staff

POTTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A school bus crash Friday morning in Centre County shook up several kids and sent a driver of another car to the hospital, said police.

The crash happened on the stretch of Route 322, a four-lane highway a few miles from Potter Mills.

Police said the bus driver pulled out and hit a driver of an SUV; the driver suffered major injuries.

Around 9:20 Friday morning the bus carrying 13 students from the Penns Valley School District was in the crossover between four lanes of traffic on Route 322.

The students were on a two-hour delay which lead to more traffic to be on the roadway.

The top of the SUV was cut off in order to rescue the driver.

The crash scene is part of the first phase of a PennDOT project to upgrade the entire 322 corridor.

There is no word on when the construction is to begin.
