JUNIATA TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Bedford County man has been charged with attempted homicide following a fight and stabbing, investigators said.

State police at Bedford charged Paul Joseph Griffith, 62, of Schellsburg, with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and other charges following the Saturday incident.

Troopers said Griffith got into a fight with Brian Keith Barnett, 44, of Manns Choice, at a home on Buena Road at about 2 a.m.

Both men suffered stab wounds to their necks during the fight, police said. They were taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment.

An update on Barnetts condition was not immediately available.

Police said Griffith was released from the hospital and placed in the Bedford County Prison on $500,000 bail. A preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 29.
