Man killed in Cambria Co. crash

By: WJAC Web Staff

WEST TAYLOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police said alcohol and health issues may have been factors in a crash that killed a man in Cambria County over the weekend.

Johnstown police said Mark Diaz, 42, of Seward, Westmoreland County, was killed when he lost control of his vehicle along Route 403 (Cramer Pike) at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Police said Diaz crashed into a utility pole along the West Taylor Township roadway, causing the car to catch fire.

The Cambria County coroners office said health issues may have led to Diaz losing control, but the police investigation was still ongoing.

The coroner said Diaz had a blood alcohol level of nearly .15, which is almost two times the legal limit.

The coroner said Diaz died at the scene.
